Privacy Policy
This explains what VIN Clothing LLC ("Vires in Numeris", "we", "us") collects when you use viresinnumeris.store, why we collect it, and who else touches it. We would rather be short and specific than long and vague.
1. Who we are
Vires in Numeris is a clothing brand operated by VIN Clothing LLC, 7901 4th Street North, St. Petersburg, FL 33702. You can reach us at [email protected].
2. What we collect
When you place an order
Your name, shipping address, billing address, email address, phone number if you give one, and the contents of your order. Checkout is handled by Shopify. Your payment card details go to Shopify and its payment processors; we never see or store your full card number.
When you join the waitlist or a creator list
Your email address, and a creator code if you used one.
When you redeem a card
The redemption code from your card, the Bitcoin address or Lightning address you give us, and a record of the payment we made to it. See section 3, which is the part worth reading.
Automatically, on every request
Your IP address, timestamp, and browser user agent. We use these to rate limit the redemption endpoints and to spot abuse. Without them, someone could hammer the claim endpoint until they guessed a live code.
3. Bitcoin addresses, in plain terms
When you redeem a card you hand us an address so we can send you the satoshis. Two things about that deserve a straight answer.
On-chain payments are permanent and public. When we send to a Bitcoin address, that payment sits on the blockchain forever and anyone can look at it. It comes from our wallet, so anyone examining the chain can see that your address received a payment from us. On our side we hold the link between that address and your order, which includes your shipping address.
If that matters to you, redeem to an address that is not tied to the rest of your activity, or use a Lightning address instead. Lightning payments do not go on the blockchain.
We store the address alongside the code so we have a record that the code was paid and so we can answer you if something goes wrong. We do not publish it, sell it, or hand it to anybody except where the law requires it.
We may screen orders and redemptions against government sanctions lists. That is a legal obligation, not a preference.
4. Why we use it
- To take payment, fulfil your order, and get a package to you.
- To pay out the satoshis on your card and keep a record that we did.
- To email you about your order, and to email you about the brand if you asked us to.
- To prevent fraud, double claims, and abuse of the redemption system.
- To meet tax, accounting, and sanctions obligations.
5. Who else sees it
We use a small number of companies to run this. Each one only gets what it needs:
- Shopify · store, checkout, payment processing, order records.
- Cloudflare · hosting and the key-value store that holds waitlist emails and redemption records.
- Resend · sending email.
- Our Lightning provider · processing Lightning payouts.
- Shipping carriers · your name and address, so they can deliver.
We also disclose information if we are legally required to, or to protect our rights or someone's safety.
6. What we do not do
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with data brokers. We do not run third-party advertising trackers on this site.
7. Cookies and local storage
The site stores a small amount of data in your browser: a creator code if you arrived through a creator link, and a cached signup count. Shopify sets its own cookies during checkout; checkout does not work without them.
8. How long we keep things
- Order and payment records: as long as tax and accounting rules require.
- Waitlist and marketing emails: until you unsubscribe, then we remove you.
- Redemption records: kept, because they are the ledger showing a code was paid and cannot be paid twice.
- Request logs used for rate limiting: short-lived.
9. Your choices
Email [email protected] to ask what we hold about you, correct it, or ask us to delete it. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link.
Two honest limits. We cannot delete a redemption record without breaking the ledger that stops a code being claimed twice, so we keep those. And nothing already written to the Bitcoin blockchain can be deleted by us or by anyone else.
10. Children
This site is not for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you think a child has given us information, email us and we will remove it.
11. Where we operate
We operate from the United States and our service providers are largely US based. If you use the site from elsewhere, your information is handled in the United States.
12. Changes
If we change this policy we update the effective date at the top. Material changes get an email to anyone on our list.
